IOM Camp Coordination and Camp Management (CCCM) Team visited Fariya Gidan Block IDP Camp in Jere Local Government Area, Borno State, as part of its ongoing commitment to ensuring the safety and resilience of displaced populations. The visit focused on raising awareness about fire safety and implementing fire outbreak mitigation measures, which are critical in densely populated camps where fire risks are heightened.
During the visit, the team engaged with our staff, and discussed strategies for swift responses in case of an outbreak. They also assessed fire hazards and identified areas requiring immediate attention to enhance overall safety. This initiative underscores IOM’s dedication to fostering safer living environments for vulnerable communities, empowering them with the knowledge and tools to protect themselves and their families. Together, we aim to reduce risks and build a culture of safety and preparedness in IDP camps.
